See also "Occupational Noise".
When the noise in a work area exceeds a TWA (time-weighted average) of
85 dBA, it is often necessary to require that workers be supplied with
hearing protection devices (HPD) and eventually to reduce noise
exposure by acceptable means. It is also necessary to establish a
hearing conservation program (HCP).
For noise exposure reduction, most
situations call for consideration of the endurance and frequency of
noisy tasks, to increase the distance from noisy equipment, or to place
a sound barrier between the worker's ears and the noisy equipment, or
eventually to replace or modify (quiet) the noisy equipment. We can
integrate these four approaches for optimal solutions to your problem.

If you have acoustical or noise control design problems you
would like to discuss, feel free to call or FAX us any time.
