Fatigue Analysis

       The wear and tear of machine components and material items needs to be quantified to provide an estimate of the useful life of a given component (shaft, gear, bearing etc). Data is accumulated from historical tests on similar items. In-use variables provide measurement metrics with which to build a prediction model.


 Primary variables are usually maximum stress or strain or bearing load and direction of load, cycles of stress or RPM and time.  In the case of aerospace vehicles, sonic noise and vibration are often primary.  "Cycles to Failure" is often the primary analysis output.

    We  have performed fatigue analysis on centriugal fans for nuclear power plant HVAC mechanical equipment.
